I was attempting to give updates every few weeks… what happened?!!! Rather than savoring the process, time has just rushed by. Pacific Retina Care is slated to open in less than FIVE weeks. Breathe.
Miraculously, construction is progressing nicely. We have had only a few unexpected delays. Flexibility on both sides has allowed us to work around each other. Because I anticipated completion in June, computers, equipment and furnishing have been trickling in. Most have been collecting dust in our home, but the items expected in June and July are now being shipped directly to the office while work is still being done. I really admired how the floor installers from Complete Commercial Flooring were able to work around my nurses’ desk, a few chairs, refrigerator, dishwasher, file cabinets, and the telephone installer from Hawaiian Telcom! And boy, does that African Walnut look gorgeous.
During this busy month we celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary. How can that be possible? Here is to many, many more years together. While celebrating our anniversary we also said Bon Voyage to our dear friends from New Jersey, Laura and Dan. They returned to their home the following day. While I am sad and miss them, I also realize how lucky and blessed we were to have had them for so long! There is that word GRATITUDE again.
Lastly, Pacific Retina Care had its formal debut thanks to the pharmaceutical rep mentioned before. About a dozen local optometrists joined us for a lovely dinner at the Waikele Country Club, while Mark educated us on OCT interpretation of Retinal Diseases. He did a nice job and seemed to be well-received. We look forward to long and mutually rewarding relationships with these doctors. What fun!
Up next week- computer and network installation; Akamai PM installation & training; Zeiss and Reliance installations; U-Hauling all of our office furnishings and computer equipment… with pictures!
