Whew! October has been a very busy month at Pacific Retina Care. Dr. Tafoya had the honor of speaking to over 400 optometrists two weeks ago. He was invited to speak at the Great Western Council of Optometry meeting in Portland, OR. He covered topics such as Diabetic Retinopathy; Retinal Vein Occlusive Diseases; what to expect in retinal surgery; and retinal diseases which resemble spots.
Last week we were off to the Academy of Ophthalmology annual meeting in Orlando, FL. We just arrived back in Honolulu this morning to see afternoon patients. Since Tes had been with us for about a year now, she joined us. We attended courses on patient flow, various diagnostic techniques, human relations, and more. We also did some shopping at the exhibit hall. We bought a new handheld tonometer to improve our efficiency, lots and lots of books, and patient education. Check the blog frequently as there will be many changes and I’d love to know your opinion.
In the meantime, I am trying to figure out Holiday gifts for our referring doctor; ordering Holiday greeting cards; planning our part in the American Diabetes Step Out! walk; and so much more. We continue to grow and work through growing pains. It is good to be busy!
